Chairman’s Majlis | DP World
‘Reimagining a dynamic and adaptive hospitality environment for 21st century trade’
Defined by intangible heritage, cultural and social values, a Majlis by definition are ‘sitting places’ where community members gather to discuss local events, exchange news, receive guests and be entertained.
Blending these traditional values with a contemporary hospitality environment, we designed detailed and implemented a 1400 square meter area that blended comfort with integrated technology.
This allowed DP World to both connect with the EXPO program and play host to VIP’s, business delegations and governments across, private meeting rooms, broadcast lounges and one to one spaces to transform their business value.
Creative Approach
Spearheading the creative development as part of Open’s design team, specialist fabricators and co-curating with P&O Archives, we developed a soft narrative of DP Worlds history and future visions as a backdrop to the Chairman’s suites across artefact displays, immersive digital surfaces, and soundscapes.
Capitalising on the lateral vistas of the Pavilion’s top floor and overlooking the EXPO park, we introduced a maritime inspired, lighter materials palette.
With an innovation focused aesthetic, open plan spaces, we created a welcoming atmosphere and iconic destination for DP World’s powerful business development program. To support their drive to reputation change, to create business growth, focus and certainty for them in an unpredictable world.
